About Us

The Rider's Digest was the brainchild of Roger Tuson who'd noticed while working as a despatch rider that the industry in London might benefit from a dedicated free magazine financed by recruitment ads. Issue 1 was 24 b&w, photocopied, hand collated and stapled pages and it was released in August 1997. It grew into a national 72 page full colour freebie over the following ten years, distributing 32,000 copies a month at its peak, before releasing a 132 page retail version in the spring of 2009. Unfortunately it went bust a couple of years later; but after a brief few months, Dave Gurman, (who'd edited issues 101 to 141), was persuaded to restore it online. This site was updated in September 2018 after a bit of hiatus and started publishing new features as well as reproducing articles and images from our extensive twenty plus years archive.
